Recently I had set up to take photos of International Space Station (ISS) passing overhead. This is a sequence of about 40 photos, creating a star trail. Some interesting things for me - you can see the ISS being the line running diagonally, it came up from the bottom right up to the top left near the roof, and it almost goes directly through the south celestial pole, the point which the stars rotate around. You can see the distinctive different colours of the stars, and the bright light from the bottom is the city's light pollution, fading out our view of the stars. This winter, get out away from the city on a clear moon less night and check out the stars, you will see our milky way galaxy and good chance of seeing some shooting stars and other alien crafts :)
